Bicycles in Japan share the pedestrian ways in all cities.
In big cities some times, not always, there is a preferent side for pedestrian or/and bicycles but most of the time they share it
In my tenth trips to Japan I have never seen an accident bicycle/pedestrian. Some times they whistle beside me but never touch me. They drive with care when in bicycle and they move paying atention as pedestrians, I can not find any other answer.
I like that. I feel bicycle as transport media more close to people walking than to the more dangerous cars, vans, trucks.
All is needed is prudence.
Las bicicletas comparten las aceras con los peatones en cualquier ciudad de Japón. En las
grandes ciudades, en algunas avenidas las aceras se dividen en dos con areas preferentes para unas u otros.
En mis diez viajes nunca he visto un accidente de bicicletas, sí he visto constantemente maniobrar, algunas veces he sentido rozarme casí pero nunca me han tocado. Se mueven con cuidado y teniendo en cuenta a los peatones. No hay otra respuesta.
Siempre me ha gustado esto. Creo que la bici es un medio de transporte mecánico más cerca de los peatones que de los coches y furgonetas.
Todo lo que hace falta es prudencia.
